Driftwood & Seaglass ~ Before & After

2

Our favorite designs are featured on the Portfolio page of our website, but we would like to devote a few blog posts to digging a little deeper on those projects, and showing you where we started.

This 1980’s condominium was looking sad, neglected, and dated and it was due for an update! The kitchen was gutted and the old was replaced with new: new calcutta marble subway backsplash, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, custom designed lantern pendants and custom cabinetry, so entertaining is now done in style. We reimagined the fireplace and staircase, covered the walls with cottage-worthy shiplap, put in all new wood flooring in a respectable, medium grey brown, and piled on accents in seaglass blues and greens. The result is a soft, mature beachfront home.

Driftwood and Seaglass Fireplace ReVamp

The fireplace facelift includes gray, organic subway tile, beautiful and comfortable swivel rockers, and shallow built-in cabinets to house components and media, but not to impose on the space.

The living room: shiplap, seagrass, houndstooth, and pops of seaglass color in pillows, artwork, and a statement cocktail ottoman!

Driftwood and Seaglass Remodel Staircase black gray white custom runner

There was no saving the staircase, so we gave our clients a new one with a dramatic flair - beautiful custom runner, solid stairs, and show-stopping black treads and rails.

Well, this was a fun exercise. The portfolio pictures are great, but it's even better to look back at where it started! We'll continue the Before and After blog posts, but in the meantime, check out our portfolio for more inspiration!

This is a really cool idea for a home renovation. Thank you for sharing this blog. I also want to share this idea I read from https://renovationsbyhearthandhome.com/home-renovations-calgary-kitchen-bathroom-unexpected-beginnings-and-endings/.
