In the winter, when our seasonal friends return to their “real lives,” the store gets quieter, but the Bayberry Cottage team gets to work on our off-season design projects! These vacation home projects are planned and implemented through the winter and unveiled when our clients return in spring.

Springtime is all about big reveals at Bayberry Cottage, both in the store and for our design clients! And we know our clients are in suspense all winter as we design, install, and accessorize their homes to perfection. There’s nothing like the moment everyone returns in the warm months to see their beautiful, personal, custom vacation spaces for the first time! After lots of hugs, some light jumping up and down, and intermittent tears of joy, we leave everyone to relax and enjoy—and it’s on to the next project!

Gwen DeBruyn

Hi, I’m Gwen DeBruyn, founder and Director of Creative Design at Bayberry Cottage. I have spent the last 30 years working to bring the best of South Haven to our summer guests. After owning and operating hotels, vacation rentals, and acting as President of the Lakeshore Convention & Visitors Bureau, I opened Bayberry Cottage and discovered my true passion: designing gorgeous, fun, inspired vacation homes!

When you work with Bayberry Cottage, you’ll have a dedicated design team already installed to work remote on your dream renovation. Through our decades of experience working along the Michigan lakeshore, we can not only identify potential problems, but solve them before they happen!
